Having captained the Canterbury side for much of the past
decade, Julie made a smooth transition to coaching in 2010 and is
keen to continue building on that foundation as she returns in 2013
for a fourth year with the Tactix.
In June 2011 Julie was the assistant coach of the NZ Under 21
side and in November travelled with the Fastnet Ferns to Liverpool
as assistant coach, bringing home a silver medal. This year Julie
is assistant coach of the NZ Secondary Schools team and looks
forward to coaching her Trans Tasman Secondary School Netball
Tournament to victory this year.
With 92 caps for the Silver Ferns, including two Commonwealth
Games and three World Championships during an illustrious playing
career that spanned 16 years, Julie knows exactly what it takes
physically and mentally to be an elite athlete.
